Professor Nuttman-Shwartz's (Ph.D., M.S.W. & G.A.) work comprises both a clinical focus as a social worker and therapist, as well as her academic work as an educator and researcher at Sapir College.
Professor Nuttman-Shwartz's research focuses on four fields: personal and social trauma and resilience; life transitions and occupational crises; group therapy and facilitation; and international social work. These studies have made both theoretical and practical contributions. Specifically, her work has been applied to practical interventions in the social work profession as well as to the development and implementation of training programs for local and international students and professionals. Her studies have yielded 75 academic publications in leading international and local journals as well as book chapters. From 2011 until 2019, Professor Nuttman-Shwartz served as the Chairperson of the Israeli National Council for Social Work. In 2014, she was awarded the Katan Prize for Academic Scholarship in Social Work, and in 2016 she received an award of distinction for her groundbreaking efforts to integrate academic work and work with at-risk communities. In 2019 she was nominated by the Israeli Ministry of Science and Technology to serve as an Israeli representative and a member committee in COST (European Cooperation in Science & Technology) Title: Transnational Collaboration on Bullying, Migration and Integration at the School Level. |
